Heads up Bottega Veneta will be releasing its latest spring/summer 2020 collection live from Milan on 19 September 2019, at CET 20 September, Singapore and Malaysia time. For autumn 2019, creative director Daniel Lee believed that simplicity is beauty. And so he wanted to express a collection that is simple, that will evoke pleasure, joy, desire and a sense of beauty. He did just that with sleek leather ensembles in dark palettes. The womenâs dresses were polished and menâs layered knitwear pieces came paired with armour-like outerwear. It was truly a presentation of sharp tailoring. What the audience witnessed was the outcome of Bottegaâs DNA and Leeâs vision for the brand. How will Lee impress his audience this time? Stay tuned to find out. Meanwhile, take a look at our previous spring/summer 2020 Runway Report here in three parts â I, II, and III.
Daniel Lee takes the throne. September 21, 2019 Fashion Dylan Kelly Daniel Lee garnered all the attention at Milan Fashion Week on Thursday as he sent his latest set of high-fashion designs down the Bottega Veneta runway. Having taken on the role of creative director at the Italian fashion house just last June, Lee established his personal touch of craftsmanship with this latest collection for the label. âSpring 2020 evolves the codes we are building at Bottega Veneta,â Lee explained in a statement. âOur focus is on process and clarity; immediate and direct.â With a clear methodology at the forefront of Leeâs focus, the intricacy of his artistic visions certainly came to fruition. Utilizing refined techniques of disruptive weaving and tactile knotting, Lee juxtaposes classicism and modernism with contemporary silhouettes, resulting in a collection of timeless elegance. The Bottega range cuts through the tension with ease and plays with the standards of proportion in a balance of color. Tones of black, chocolate brown, gold, tapioca, orange, and blue underscore the attitude of rich beauty in each ensemble. A number of glimmering dresses starkly contrast dark leather jackets, while neutral accessories complement monochromatic jumpsuits. Opulent necklaces make an essential distinction against the soft structure of plunging necks and companionate skirts. Leeâs attention to detail becomes evident as each model steps out in their completed Bottega Veneta apparatus, and his meticulous efforts surely reign supreme. A warm and desirable array, the Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2020 collection encapsulates the ambient essence of the labelâs existence. In regards to the mission of the luxury Italian brand, Lee explained, âBottega Veneta is about the individual, itâs for you.â Showcasing an expansive range of carefully-crafted, versatile pieces, Daniel Lee is certainly going above and beyond to cater to the individual. ï»żAgainst the backdrop of plurality in culture today, defining whatâs cool is becoming more and more challenging. That doesnât seem to be the case for creative director Daniel Lees Bottega Veneta so called New Bottegaâ. The spring summer 2020 collection embodies a certain aloofness and confidence that sets it apart from anything else on the runway. Plenty of sunglasses, leather looks, and the modelsâ vice grip on luxurious bags conveyed a definitive point of view, a style, in a world that is perhaps overwhelmed by too many. Oversized trench coats, dropped shoulders, knitted dresses, and exaggerated proportions on both the menâs and womenâs silhouettes lent to the collectionâs relaxed sophistication. Could Daniel Lee do it again? Bottega Veneta got off to a strong start under the youthful creative director last season, and with his cool-with-an-extra-edge accessories flying off the shelves, anticipation was palpable as guests knocked back glasses of chilled Louis Roederer and filed in to Milanâs Palazzo del Senato. Hereâs Vogueâs digest of the spring/summer 2020 Bottega Veneta Veneta spring/summer 2020 The set riffed on the labelâs tactile codesTwo huge cellophane-wrap tents had been erected within the cobbled courtyards of the baroque palazzo. Inside, gold-edged glass floors were laid over a supersized Intrecciato weave, and guests took their seats on giant puffy cream bouclĂ© wool and tangerine leather cushions that recalled Gianfranco Frattini Sesann designs - only more Veneta spring/summer 2020 "Clarityâ is the Bottega buzzwordâOur focus is on process and clarity; immediate and direct,â Daniel Lee was quoted as saying on the show notes. And on that note, the hit puffy pouch now comes with a chainlink handle.
